The Hypes of Work-at-Home

You've probably read a few articles  or memes that tell about the best things in working at home. Which is yours? The freedom from 9 to 5 and traffic jams? For me, it's the bliss of taking care of my kids and witnessing their milestones everyday.

There are actually a whole lot more. Because work-at-home is really fun even without the presence of other human beings also known as co-workers around. One of those "funs" is the chance of doing what you enjoy doing whenever you want it, such as slouching and watching TV. Yes, watching your favorite TV shows! Doraemon, Slam Dunk, Dragon Ball Z, Princess Sarah, or those back to back blockbuster movies. You name it!

How about the latest noon craze, #kalyeserye? Do the pabebe wave if you can relate with me. You don't have to dubsmash. I bet you can't help but smile when you remember Yaya Dub, who is Maine Mendoza in real life, sparkle every time she sees Alden Richards. I know you also burst into laughter when you watch Lola Nidora intervene during #AlDub's "kilig moments."

Some may not understand what I'm talking about. But I am quite sure that half a million Filipinos wait for the recorded videos of this kalyeserye in Eat Bulaga Facebook page. Most of their uploaded videos reached more than 2 million views! These are sure proofs that this noontime show has captured the hearts of Filipino viewers.

I believe, it is the seemingly for real "kilig" or giddiness between Alden and Yaya Dub that contributes largely to the success of this show. Notwithstanding the efforts of Lola Nidora (well-played by Wally Bayola), Frankie (Jose Manalo, ang taong puno ng dimples), and Paolo to deliver the usually non-scripted punch lines. The show vibrates positive mood to viewers which I think is what people want nowadays to escape from a stressful environment.

So much so about the kalyeserye. Let's check out a few more advantages of working at home:

1. The ability to choose who you want to work with.
2. We can work right after getting off the bed especially during dead lines.
3. We can eat whatever, whenever, and wherever. (This is an exaggeration.)
4. We don't have to worry about what to wear and how to wear it.
5. We can enjoy almost all holidays and attend to parties/occasions.
6. Of course, tasks can be stressful at times. But at home, a kiss from our kids or a quick chat with a neighbor who just passed by can wipe the stress out of our system.
7. We can peep at our Facebook newsfeeds or play COC, WOW, Candy Crush, Minecraft, etc. every short breaks.
8. We have more opportunities to learn new things about the latest technology, apps, and other advancements.

The list goes on. It depends on the freelancer's or contractor's situation. There can be disadvantages, too. Maybe you'd like to vent out the disadvantages or share your success in the comments section below.
